WHAT DOES IT
MEAN

3

The word "cilia" is derived from the Latin
term for "eyelash," which is what they look
like. Cilia work by moving back and forth in
unison, allowing the cell to move through
liquid or mucus environments or to propel
objects, such as food, dust, or bacteria,
around themselves.

AND OF COURSE IN THE BRONCHIAL
REGION AND TRACHEA OF PULMONARY
SYSTEM

It protects the repository from pathogens
This ciliated cells are columnar epithelial cells with
specialized ciliated modifications

IT VERY
DIVERSE

Mortille Cilia:- Found in larger
eukaryotes, such as
mammals..
In humans, found in the lining
of the trachea, where they
sweep mucus and dirt out of
the lungs.
 In female mammals, cilia in
the Fallopian tubes moves
the ovum from the ovary to
the uterus

Immotile Cilia:- In humans, they
are found on nearly every cell in
the body.
Found in eyes of humans which
works as receptor.
 Present in nose.

WHAT IF CILIATED
CELLS WERENT
THERE
Our trachea would be full of dirt that we take

in
 We cant smell properly
In females, ovum wouldnt be transferred
through fallopian tube, hence no offspring's
 We wouldnt see anything clearly
