Cinder cone is a steep conical hill formed from loose volcanic materials ejected from a single volcanic vent. It is formed when basaltic or very fluid magma explodes from a vent, building up around it in the shape of a cone. Examples of cinder cones include Cerro Negro, Paricutin, and Sunset Crater.
