- 3. CITYFELLOWS.CO The City Fellows Consortium is an innovation-centered private league for Los Angeles' top undergraduate engineering fellows, selected from the region¡¯s most elite universities. Each year the Consortium schedule will focus on building new ties for every Fellow into the local community, including ties to VC, government, early stage technology companies, and LA¡¯s top traditional technology enterprises. Fellows will become comprehensively familiar with LA¡¯s innovation ecosystem, and LA¡¯s leaders will gain a view deep into the area¡¯s universities, meeting the most promising innovative undergraduate engineers. Consortium Fellows and the innovation community will be in a bi-directional dialogue so that (1) Fellows may learn about and contribute to the work and challenges managed by local leaders, and so that (2) the Fellows may receive market-perspective feedback on their own lab-based and personal work from the City¡¯s VC leaders, balancing the academic perspective found in their campus network. FELLOWS.CORE A LOS ANGELES, CA 2015/2016 Venture Capital City Fellows will have the opportunity to learn about venture capital, to discuss innovation trends, investment theory, and process, and to present their lab work or independent projects to VCs for market-based feedback. Fellows will have the opportunity to add the region¡¯s top VCs to their network, forming relationships with LA¡¯s most forward- thinking investors. ProcessOnce monthly Venture Capital ?reside chat ? Each month¡¯s presenting VC will select a top relevant to the local innovation community to present to the Consortium. ? Fellows will sign up to present their work to presenting VCs; each session 2 or more fellows will have the opportunity to present. ? 30 min. discussion and Q&A on VC ? 30-45 min. presentation and discussion on innovation topic ? 30 min. - 5. ? 90 min. Dinner + whiteboard of challenge question brainstorm ? 30 min. Private Consortium debrief amongst the Fellows FELLOWS.CORE B LOS ANGELES, CA 2015/2016 Innovation Leadership City Fellows will have the opportunity to contribute their exceptional creativity, intelligence, and training to the experiences and challenges faced by LA Innovation Leaders. Fellows will have the opportunity to learn about the local innovation ecosystem, form relationships with local leaders, and discover opportunity to participate in creating solutions to local challenges and business prospects. ProcessOnce monthly ¡°Off the Record¡± innovators¡¯ dinner ? Each month¡¯s presenting Innovation Leader will lead a group dinner discussion on their company or industry. ? The Leader will pose a challenge question to the Fellows, representing a current work issue or challenge. ?
