The Chautauqua Lake Association's mission is to provide science-based lake maintenance and education for all users of Chautauqua Lake. The CLA President thanked supporters for their contributions. The CLA manages news coverage of its work, distributes a quarterly newsletter, and promotes events. The document also provides an inventory of the CLA's equipment, photos of harvesting and transport operations, discusses variables that determine its operating plan, and ways to increase services like adding more barges or crews in order to better maintain the lake's water quality.

Editor's Notes
Here we see a harvester along with work crew members at the shore. The operation is very labor intensive.
One option is to unload a harvester onto a work barge, but this is very labor intensive. Its back breaking work.
Transport barges make the process much more efficient. This is the latest transport barge acquisition.
A better option is to use transport barges like this one. This speeds up the harvest process. The barge can carry more than the harvester, and returns to shore to unload the weeds into a truck, while the harvester stays on the lake and continues cutting weeds.
The CLA works at keeping the Shoreline looking good, removing the brush, weeds, and mud that build up.
The CLA removes tons of debris from the lake and shoreline after storms.
