Professor Clarence B. Jones, co-writer of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s iconic "I Have a Dream" speech, will provide a behind-the-scenes account of the weeks leading up to the speech and its transformative impact. As an advisor and close friend to Dr. King, Professor Jones will share his personal insights into the drafting and delivery of the speech that came to define the Civil Rights Movement. While visiting New Albany High School, Professor Jones will also address students as part of the school's "Peace Week" celebration focusing on tolerance and non-violent conflict resolution.

Professor Jones is the co-writer of the historic speech, advisor
and close personal friend to Dr. King. He is the author of What
Understanding Would Martin Say? (published October 2009). His newest book,
Behind the Dream: The Making of the Speech that Transformed a
Nation (published January 2011 by Palgrave MacMillan ) provides a
personal, insiders account of the 1963 March on Washington for
Jobs and Freedom.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College,
Columbia University and a Juris Doctor degree from Boston
Universitys School of Law. J ones is currently a Scholar in Residence
at Stanford University.
