! With the advancing technology nowadays, movies have started to adopt animation as its part and for some, its core. As days past, animation have become even more eye catching than it was before, and not long after that, animated films started to show its nose, becoming more and more popular as the time past. What made these animated films interesting is none other than their attributes, which are different for each animated film. Now let us compare some of them, between the two animated films, Finding Nemo & Tangled. First, let us compare the presonality of the character marlin, the main character in Finding Nemo and Rapunzel, the main character in Tangled. These two characters have different personality, Marlin, the main character in Finding Nemo is a neurotic, worrisome, pessimistic and determined character (The Disney Wiki, 2003), these characters can be seen from how he believes Nemo can not swim well just because he was worry while in fact Nemo can swim well and when Nemo is in danger, with determination, he went for an adventure to rescue Nemo. While the other character, Rapunzel, is a spirited, kind, brave, smart, playful, very adventurous and naive teen (The Disney Wiki, 2010). Along the story, you can see her proving all these characters, and that made her a different Disney Princess than the others. Second, the backgrounds, these two animated films/movies have a whole different backgrounds compared to each other. Finding Nemo is an animated film 2! !
! about fish, it is a story where Marlin, the main character was looking for his son, Nemo. In the movie, the story was separated into two, the first tells us about Marlins adventure to look for Nemo where it took place in the vast ocean and the second tells us about Nemos effort of trying to get out of the aquarium where he was placed after kidnapped, this took place on the land, inside of a dentist office. While Tangled is a story about a kidnapped princess who was locked in a tall tower and was rescued by a thief where her adventure began, the backgrounds in this story can be seen from her adventure, she went from hills to towns, and finally her castle. Next, we will compare the story goal of the two films. In Finding Nemo, the story tells us about Marlins adventure in the vast ocean with Dory to rescue Nemo that has been kidnapped and placed inside of an aquarium in a dentist office. While Tangled tells us about how Rapunzel found out that she is a princess and got back to her castle in her adventure with Flynn Rider to find the floating lantern that took place on her birthday every year. Last but not least, the endings of the two animated films. Even though the two animated films have happy endings, but the two ended differently. In Finding Nemo the story ends with their reunion, Marlin succeeded in rescuing Nemo through his hard adventure with the help of Dory and other creatures in the sea as well as the seagulls. While in Tangled the story ends with Rapunzel who lost her healing power. In order to 3! !
! kill Mother Gothel, the villain who kidnapped Rapunzel when she was still an infant, Flynn Rider cut Rapunzels hairs which caused her to lost her healing ability, even though it seems that she can still use it for one last time through her tears (The Disney Wiki, 2010) to save Flynn Rider. In a nutshell, there have been many interesting movies/films that adopted animation and there have been many animated films that we know are very popular and have a good story. But even so, each movie/film have a different story, characters, backgrounds, story goal, ending and etc. Which made each of these animated movies/films to be interesting and fun to watch. 4! !
