Coach Mike Krzyzewski has had an illustrious coaching career spanning over 40 years. He is currently the all-time wins leader in NCAA men's basketball and has led Duke University to 5 Final Fours and 4 National Championships. Prior to his success at Duke, Coach K served as an assistant coach at Indiana University and later as the head coach of West Point, where he had played basketball in college. In addition to his collegiate career, Coach K also led the US men's national basketball team to a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Accomplishments Coach K is in the Basketball Hall of Fame In 2001 he was inducted into the National Academy of Achievement He has won the National Coach Of The Year Award seven times Has been to the Final Four nine times Has won the NCAA National Championship three times In 2008 Coach K led Team USA to a Gold Medal in Beijing He is the current all-time active wins leader in NCAA men’s basketball play
Early Childhood Coach K grew up in a poorer area of Inner-City Chicago. He was born into a Polish family that was very tight knit. Coach K had played sports his whole life including childhood.
High School & College Career Coach K was very athletic in High School and (as the video says…) he stuck with basketball. In college he was the team captain at Army under Bob Knight
Pre-Duke Coaching Career Prior to coaching at Duke Coach K coached at two different schools. He first served as an assistant coach to his former head coach at West Point, Bob Knight. After coaching at Indiana Coach K coached his alma mater West Point.
Career At Duke When Coach K started at Duke it was not a national powerhouse by any means Coach K has coached at Duke for 29 years He has led the Blue Devils to 9 Final Four appearances and 3 National Championships While at Duke Coach K has earned the National Coach Of The Year Award 7 times
Players Recruited By Coach K When Coach K began at Duke it was not a big-time basketball school, he had to recruit some top-notch players for his program the list includes: Jay Bilas Steve Wojciechowski Grant Hill JJ Redick Shelden Williams Chris Duhon Johnny Dawkins Elton Brand Loul Deng Chris Collins Danny Ferry Tommy Amaker Carlos Boozer Christian Laettner Bobby Hurley Shane Battier And Many, Many More
Team USA In 2005 Coach K took on a big challenge, coaching a Team USA basketball team that hadn’t won gold in 10 years Coach K took a squad of NBA athletes and led Team USA back to gold in 2008 Many of the USA basketball players after playing for Coach K said they would’ve gone to Duke for school.
The Emily Krzyzewski Family Life Center To benefit the community in Durham, North Carolina Coach K opened a clinic for underprivileged children The clinic is called the “Emily Krzyzewski Family Life Center” it was named after Coach K’s mother The clinic provides children with a place to study, be tutored, hang out and just be kids if their families are struggling
