This document provides instructions for a color studies assignment consisting of 4 separate collage studies: a chromatic grays study using 7 grays, a muted colors study using 7 muted colors, a prismatic study using 7 prismatic colors, and a combined saturation study using 9 colors. Each 4.5x6 inch collage study must be centered on a 9x12 inch matte board with no white showing in the design area, and a name and description written on the back.

Your first color assignment consists of 4 separate studies. • Part 1 - Chromatic Grays Study • Part 2 - Muted Colors Study • Part 3 - Prismatic Study • Part 4 - Combined Saturation Study
All studies will be made 4 1/2 inches by 6 inches.
Each study will be centered on a piece of 9 inch by 12 inch white matte board.
No white matte board should be visible within the 4.5 x 6 inch design area.
All 4 studies may be based on the same design, or you may have unique designs for each study.
Chromatic grays study
Make a paper collage using at least 7 different chromatic grays and a variety of values.
Color assignment 1
muted colors study
Make a paper collage using at least 7 muted colors and a variety of hues and values.
Color assignment 1
Prismatic study
Make a paper collage using at least 7 prismatic colors
Color assignment 1
Combined saturation study
Make a paper collage using at least 9 colors in a variety of saturations, values and hues.
Color assignment 1
Write name and description on back of each study.
