This document analyzes and compares the color palettes used in the Fall 2012 Miu Miu and Spring 2012 Prada collections. For Prada's Fall collection, it focuses on deep blues and rusted oranges as complementary warm and cool colors. The suits emphasize minimalist tailoring with vintage graphics and streamlined silhouettes. For Miu Miu's Fall collection, tinted primary and secondary colors are used to create a soft, sweet palette. Both collections effectively utilize color theory principles like complementaries and temperature contrasts to set moods and convey meanings for their seasons.
3. ≒ Deep blues & Rusted Orange (complementary warm & cool)
≒ Exaggerated temperatures to create contrast
≒ Primaries & secondaries are strong within the prints
≒ In the suits, Prada focuses on minimalistic tailoring, vintage graphics,
streamlined trousers and cleverly crafted jackets with a nod to the
70s.
As for the suit fabrics, they ranged from street-ready solids with a bit
of a sharkskin sheen to only-for-the-bravest Art Nouveau-ish florals.
Some jackets had this season's capelike back.

15. Overall, I applied the principles of design to my final
project by highlighting the use of color harmonies and
complementary palates in fashion design.
In these two collections, Prada uses complementary colors in the
pant suits with dark shades of cool blue and rusted orange.
The tint and tone of each color is also important within these
designs. The pant suits utilize a darker tone of perfectly
complementary warm and cool colors for fall,
the spring collection used a softer tone and subtle contrast to
portray the feel of spring.
