What is MMORPG? M MORPG  : Massively multiplayer online role-playing game. A fiction al  character in a virtual (i.e fantasy)  world Follows a unique tale/story  Main idea : increase your level, form  groups , collect items, defeat dungeons/monsters/other clans First MMORPG played with 2 people in 1973, at NASA (MazeWar)  Maze (1970s) WoW (2006)
What is World of Warcraft? Wow  M MORPG  : Massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Depends on the lores of Warcraft A tale of the World of Azeroth 10 Races, 9 classes HORD:   Orcs,Taurens,Trolls,Bloodelfs,Undead ALLIANCE:   Dwarves,gnomes,humans,dranei, night elves More than 10 million people registered.
Game Basics Login to a server (EU/US) races Create your character Start leveling up your charachter Quests and gaining XP Buy/sell anything Form a guild Go to Dungeons/Raids Collect items Travel/Discover the maps
Character Basics races Buy/Find clothes for armor Head,Wrist,Chest,Legs,Belt,Glove,Ring,etc. Buy/Find Weapons One hand/Two Hand Axes,swords,maces staves,  polearms,guns,trinkets,fist hand weapons etc. Increase your stats Strength,Agility,Stamina,Intellect,Spirit etc. Build your talent tree for maximum power
Where is the money? In warcraft the currency is Gold/silver/peny races You can gain Gold from Quests, Items, and your profession and TRADING Professions :  Mining,Skinning,Leahterworking, Blacksmithing,Alchemy,Jewelcrafting,etc.
Virtual money    Real Money aces A virtual world created a real life-economy on internet You can buy GOLD from internet You can buy a character with high level You can even purchase in-game weapons for real money
Guilds/Dungeons/Raids Guilds: A group of people that join for companionship, adventure and economic gain.  Dungeons : Group of 5/10/25 people   attacking the monsters inside Raiding:  Large groups of people assaulting to monsters, dungeons or the other cla n  (Hordes to Alliances or vice versa) Most important aspect of the game.  Forming groups of  5/10/20/25/50/  Guilds are the perfect example for an online   community.
