Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak co-founded Apple in 1976 along with their friend Ronald Wayne. Wayne was offered 10% of the company stock to act as an arbitrator if Jobs and Wozniak had disagreements, but he sold his share just 12 days later for $500, a stake that would be worth $72 billion 40 years later. Jobs and Wozniak had been friends since 1971 when they were introduced by their mutual friend Bill Fernandez, who went on to become one of Apple's earliest employees.
