AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡
This coral reef display is a 75 gallon bow front, built-in display, located in the
lobby of a corporate office building. Filtration equipment, lighting and water
make-up are located behind the display.
Organisms like corals, sea urchins, brittle stars, hermit crabs, snails and
numerous species of fish occupy the space of this professional display aquarium.
Simulated light cycles and chaotic water currents help to re-create what these
animals would find in nature, allowing these organisms to thrive in their man-
made environment.
Whenever possible, Aquatic Art Technologies uses aquaculture organisms in
each of their displays. We promote the use of such practices when consulting,
designing or educating private or public potential clients.
AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡
AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡
This professional display is an 1200 gallon living coral reef with over 65 different
species of thriving fish, corals and invertebrates, such as starfish, sea urchins,
hard and soft corals, etc. The remote filtration room is located 120 feet away
from the main display in its own dedicated space. This display was designed,
installed and has been managed by Aquatic Art Technologies since 2001.
AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡
Aquatic Art Technologies designed and installed this 90 gallon coral reef display
in March of 2003. Managed by AAT, this display is a colorful garden of living
corals, which only gets better with age.
AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡
Aquatic Art Technologies designed and installed this professional 200 gallon
display aquarium in March of 2003. This display is located on the first floor of a
private home, with the remote filtration space located in the basement.
AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡
As stated above, this 200 gallon living coral reef display pictured is only two
months old. Today, 1 ? years later, it is blossoming into a truly breathtaking
reef display with live corals and a diverse population of colorful fish.
AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡
This 250 gallon living reef display is located in a corporate production facility
lobby in Windsor, CT. Housing numerous fish, corals and inverts, this display
looks spectacular with its optically clear front glass panel and the maple wood
trim to match existing d¨¦cor.
WATER FEATURES¡
¡°In the beginning¡¡±
40 feet tall & 6 feet wide, this water wall is located in the main lobby of The
Marine Sciences Building at The University of Connecticut - Avery Point
Campus.
The water wall is constructed from glass and stainless steel. The glass is etched
with numerous images of basic and complex marine life. As water runs down the
face of the water wall, projection lighting casts shadows of the images on a white
backdrop giving these images "life" as they shimmer beneath the sheen of water.
The water walls conceptual design ¡°In the beginning¡± was by Alison Sky -
NYArtist, and designed and constructed by Aquatic Art Technologies and
Mystic Scenic Studios.
WATER FEATURES¡
The water screen shown above, located in Boston, MA. is a one of a kind for
the Boston area. Installed in October of 2003, this water feature provides a cool
aesthetic art piece for the main entrance to the Tequila Rain restaurant and night
club. Below is the main signage for the establishment, which is a 12¡¯ long curved
bubble wall.
WATER FEATURES¡
Phrases of environmental awareness issues splash on this curved polycarbonate
water wall, and then drool off the display or explode into pieces as new verbiage
appears seconds later. Located at the New England Aquarium in the Living
Links Exhibit, this medium of relaying information is definitely an eye catcher
for many people who frequent the earth friendly exhibit.
WATER FEATURES¡
WATER FEATURES¡
The water wall shown above is located in a corporate office in Hartford, CT.
Made out of copper and standing ten feet tall, this water wall was designed to
add a touch of nature, but not to be too overpowering to the people entering
this business. The water wall creates a subtle yet soothing effect for guests and
clientele to enjoy while waiting for their business colleagues.
AQUACULTURE SYSTEMS, EQUIPMENT DESIGN &
FABRICATION¡
Re-circulating aquaculture systems are designed and built in many sizes and
formats and are capable of supporting aquatic life ranging many different sizes,
from very small organisms to very large fish like striped bass. Using state of the
art filtration technology and sound biological design, Aquatic Art Technologies
has the capability to produce small systems (as shown above) to larger integrated
systems with a separate or common filtration system and life support computer
monitoring.
The re-circulating rack system shown above is a Fathead minnow (Pimephales
promelas) culture system capable of producing approximately 60, 000 ¨C 100,000
fry per year depending on the culturist and other environmental factors. This
aquatic organism is mainly used as a bio-monitoring organism in the field of
Aquatic Toxicology. AAT has designed/built other Toxicology systems to
produce bio-monitoring organisms like Mysidopsis bahia and Cyprinodon variegates.
Other fish like the Japanese Medaka or the Zebra Danio can be cultured in
similar rack systems and are used in the biomedical, genetics and pharmaceutical
research fields.
AQUACULTURE SYSTEMS, EQUIPMENT DESIGN &
FABRICATION¡
MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡
The Aquatic Art Technologies management team has the capability to manage
large and small aquatic systems. With qualified & experienced staff, AAT will
manage aquarium displays ranging from 200 gallon live planted fresh water
aquarium displays to 1,000,000 gallon living coral reef exhibits and shark
displays.
MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡
When AAT is contracted to design /build an exhibit 99% of the time our clients
request AAT to manage that exhibit. Occasionally AAT is contracted to repair,
modify existing systems built and managed by other designers.
AAT was contracted to manage a 3,500 gallon shark display located in New
Haven, CT., (pictured above). As part of getting the shark tank back on track,
the scope of work included repair to the existing exhibit, modify the filtration,
appropriate and acclimate all the organisms and subsequently manage the
display. Today, the display is representative of Caribbean waters with many fish
and elasmobranches swimming throughout the water column.
MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡
AAT also has the capability to manage aquaculture and aquatic labs of many
different scales. The pictures shown above and below represent the newest
management venture of AAT. The Sound School Aquaculture Center has
contracted AAT to manage their 5,000 square foot fish production lab. This lab
was designed to teach students up and coming technologies and industry
standards in fields like aquaculture, genetics research and aquatic toxicology.
MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡
MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡
This facility has the capability to culture, rear and hold over 15 different species
of aquatic organisms. There are 4 quarantine rooms for disease prevention, a
25,000 gallon salt water storage and filtration system with four different water
type delivery loops throughout the lab.
MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡
The fish production lab also encompasses a food production lab where 4
different types of algae are grown, rotifers and Artemia to support the numerous
fish and shellfish organisms in the main production lab.

  • 1. AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡ This coral reef display is a 75 gallon bow front, built-in display, located in the lobby of a corporate office building. Filtration equipment, lighting and water make-up are located behind the display. Organisms like corals, sea urchins, brittle stars, hermit crabs, snails and numerous species of fish occupy the space of this professional display aquarium. Simulated light cycles and chaotic water currents help to re-create what these animals would find in nature, allowing these organisms to thrive in their man- made environment. Whenever possible, Aquatic Art Technologies uses aquaculture organisms in each of their displays. We promote the use of such practices when consulting, designing or educating private or public potential clients.
  • 3. AQUARIUM DISPLAYS¡ This professional display is an 1200 gallon living coral reef with over 65 different species of thriving fish, corals and invertebrates, such as starfish, sea urchins, hard and soft corals, etc. The remote filtration room is located 120 feet away from the main display in its own dedicated space. This display was designed, installed and has been managed by Aquatic Art Technologies since 2001.

  • 13. AQUACULTURE SYSTEMS, EQUIPMENT DESIGN & FABRICATION¡ Re-circulating aquaculture systems are designed and built in many sizes and formats and are capable of supporting aquatic life ranging many different sizes, from very small organisms to very large fish like striped bass. Using state of the art filtration technology and sound biological design, Aquatic Art Technologies has the capability to produce small systems (as shown above) to larger integrated systems with a separate or common filtration system and life support computer monitoring. The re-circulating rack system shown above is a Fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) culture system capable of producing approximately 60, 000 ¨C 100,000 fry per year depending on the culturist and other environmental factors. This aquatic organism is mainly used as a bio-monitoring organism in the field of Aquatic Toxicology. AAT has designed/built other Toxicology systems to produce bio-monitoring organisms like Mysidopsis bahia and Cyprinodon variegates. Other fish like the Japanese Medaka or the Zebra Danio can be cultured in similar rack systems and are used in the biomedical, genetics and pharmaceutical research fields.

  • 15. MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡ The Aquatic Art Technologies management team has the capability to manage large and small aquatic systems. With qualified & experienced staff, AAT will manage aquarium displays ranging from 200 gallon live planted fresh water aquarium displays to 1,000,000 gallon living coral reef exhibits and shark displays.
  • 16. MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡ When AAT is contracted to design /build an exhibit 99% of the time our clients request AAT to manage that exhibit. Occasionally AAT is contracted to repair, modify existing systems built and managed by other designers. AAT was contracted to manage a 3,500 gallon shark display located in New Haven, CT., (pictured above). As part of getting the shark tank back on track, the scope of work included repair to the existing exhibit, modify the filtration, appropriate and acclimate all the organisms and subsequently manage the display. Today, the display is representative of Caribbean waters with many fish and elasmobranches swimming throughout the water column.
  • 17. MANAGEMENT CABABILITES¡ AAT also has the capability to manage aquaculture and aquatic labs of many different scales. The pictures shown above and below represent the newest management venture of AAT. The Sound School Aquaculture Center has contracted AAT to manage their 5,000 square foot fish production lab. This lab was designed to teach students up and coming technologies and industry standards in fields like aquaculture, genetics research and aquatic toxicology.
