Complementary proteins are secreted by the liver and present in blood serum. Some are encoded by MHCIII genes and act as zymogens, becoming active through proteolytic cleavage. They have several functions, including opsonization to help phagocytosis, forming the membrane attack complex that makes pores in cell membranes, and mediating inflammatory responses. Complementary proteins can be activated through the classical or alternative pathways.
3. COMPLIMENTARY
PROTEIN
Secreted by liver present in blood serum.
Some complimentary protein encoded by MHC111
gene.
They act like zymogen protein active when
proteoligtic.
4. FUNCTION:-
Opsonyzation :- help in phagocytosis
membrane attacking complex :-
Formation of membrane attack complex.
Membrane attack complex makes the
membrane pores and cell loss its identity.
Inflamentary response
