Just before exams, the author was undecided between engineering, computer science, economics, and actuarial science. After analyzing the options, the author chose to study actuarial science. Actuaries work in insurance, pensions, and other fields measuring risks. While actuaries help people with retirement, healthcare and finances, the profession also involves stress from analyzing financial risks and lack of prestige from few understanding actuaries' roles. However, the author chose actuarial science as it aligned well with active profession sectors and found fulfillment in their studies.
