The stewards reviewed an incident during qualifying where driver Jules Bianchi in car 22 impeded driver 14 between turns 13 and the finish line. They determined Bianchi received a radio warning about the approaching faster car but decided to stay on line to start his own flying lap when he could have safely let the other car pass. As a penalty, the stewards issued Bianchi a 3 grid position drop, though only 1 could be served, along with a reprimand which was his second of the season for impeding another driver during qualifying.
