Confucianism was founded in the 6th to 5th century BC.
It has 5-6 million followers.
Confucius
Confucius was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician
and philosopher.
He lived from 551-479 BC.

He was born in Zou, Lu state.
He was born into the class of Shi, between the
aristocracy and the common people.
Philosophy
The main idea of Confucianism is ren, (goodness), having
excellent character within
li, (ritual norms)
Zhong (loyalty to ones true nature)
Shu (Generosity)
Xiao ( Respect for elders)
Confucius thought of Heaven (Tian) as a positive and
personal force
In Ancient China
The country used his ideas as a philosophy and a guide to
morality and good government.

Filial Piety

Considered among the greatest virtues and must
be shown towards the living and dead. It can be
described as the respect and obedience that a
child shows their father.
