CONJUNCTIONS ï‚¡A conjunction is a word used to connect words, phrases, or clauses.
EXAMPLES: ï‚¡ Philippines and Indonesia are long-time allied countries. [Connects words] ï‚¡ Nhel visited not only Nitz but also Vener. [Connects phrases] ï‚¡ Rozelle prepared the dinner, but Judy did not come. [Connects phrases]
CONJUNCTIONS
COORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS ï‚¡ Coordinating conjunctions are connectors used to join words equal in rank. and for or but yet nor Example: A lot of great ideas, but nothing in this world is cheaper than a good idea with no action.
CORRELATIVE CONJUNCTIONS  Correlative conjunctions connect words or groups of words that function as pairs. not only … but also both … and neither … either whether … or either … or Example: Our grand business in life in not only to see what lies dimly at a distance but also to do what clearly lies at hand.
SUBORDINATE CONJUNCTIONS  Subordinate conjunctions connect dependent and independent clauses. as after provided that when if as well as since where as soon as before though whenever although even if whether in as much as Example: Attitudes are much important that aptitudes since these reveal one’s education.
