Jean Piaget developed the cognitive learning theory and believed that children are active learners who build knowledge through four cognitive stages. Lev Vygotsky developed the social cognition theory and believed that learning is influenced by social development and collaborative learning. John Dewey thought that learning should engage learners and expand their experiences by making education relevant to their lives.
