This document contrasts the characteristics of Java and dynamic languages. Dynamic languages execute many common behaviors at runtime that other languages perform during compilation. Some key characteristics of dynamic languages include the ability to evaluate code at runtime using the eval function and modifying objects and classes after they have been defined.
