CLiC: Year 1 Develop Interdisciplinary Advisory Board Bring in Outside Consultant (Richard Selfe, Director of the Center for the Study and Teaching of Writing, the Ohio State University) Establish 5-year plan Generate departmental and campus-wide buy-in Develop interdisciplinary partnerships 2007-2008
CLiC: Year 1 (cont.) Develop scholarly framework for CLiC Publish, publish, publish! Present, present, present! Establish partnership with the National Conversation on Writing and, more formally, the Gee Library 2007-2008
CLiC: Year 1 Establish procedures and protocols for intake of NCoW submissions, offer intellectual and administrative support for this growing national resource Offer Professional Development workshop and explore other opportunities for outreach 2008-2009
CLiC: Year 1 Continue with Celebrations of Student Writing, revamping FYC curriculum to reflect best practices emerging from CLiC-sponsored research (and elsewhere) Integrate new media into FYC curriculum Develop mechanisms for supporting writing in multiple modalities (through the writing center) Establish new media writing studio in CSC National search for new tenure-line writing center director 2007-2008
CLiC: Year 2 National Search for tenure-line writing center director (Tabetha Adkins, PhD, University of Louisville--literacy studies, writing center studies, basic writing studies, new media) National Search for tenure-line FYC director with new media emphasis (reopen next year) Develop more elaborate systems and protocols for supporting faculty, staff, and student work with new media 2008-2009
CLiC: Year 2 Begin integrating new media into graduate courses Extend Celebration of Student Writing to include students beyond English 102 Further establish National Conversation on Writing (through CLiC-submissions, modeling, video/audio development) publish, publish, publish present, present, present 2008-2009
