Convolvulus fernandesii is a vulnerable plant species endemic to Portugal. It forms clusters in limestone cliff crevices and unstable substrates along the coast between Sesimbra and Cabo Espichel, where it has an area of occupancy less than 10 km2. The main threats are potential habitat loss due to urban expansion and grazing. It is legally protected and recommended that its habitat be protected from loss and the impacts of grazing be studied.

This plant is ecologically very specialized. It forms clusters
in crevices of limestone outcrops and unstable substrates
along the dolomitic limestone cliffs formed in the Jurassic. It
prefers a south and east exposure, and is even found in
abrupt overhanging cliffs, but it also requires shelter. It
sometimes occurs in vegetation thickets and acts as a
climber. This plant grows in the following Habitats Directive
