  • #2: Nissa I think weve all met but just in case. Im Nissa, this is Montse, Jennifer. And were here to introduce switch. This is an app to track work orders between dispatcher and maintenance workers in the facilities management department in large university
  • #3: Nissa We did a lot of research talking to facility workers and we came up with Joe. Joe loves his job and takes great pride in his work. Unfortunately, he not very tech savvy but needs a better way of reporting problems he sees around campus.

  • #12: Jen So Montse just talked about the experience of the app from the facilities worker point of view. Now were going how see the experience of the app from the IT developers standpoint. Specifically the IT Developer needs to know if the app is working correctly. Sandra, our dashboard persona, wants to know if there any bugs in the system that are preventing the app from running smoothly. Is there a closed loop between dispatcher job deployment and facility worker? Is this loop closed.
  • #13: Jen So the dashboard will help Sandra figure out if the system is working well. It offers a real-time view of the system. 1. She get a quick level understanding of how many work order have been created up until that time and by whom. 2. Job activity feed that captures real-time usage of the app: when a facility worker has started a job, paused jobs, closed jobs. So you get visual feedback in regards to how well the actual time of job completion MATCHES with the estimated time of a job completion. Which is a valuable insight that isnt currently captured with the existing paper system. 3. Campus map of current jobs happening now.
  • #14: Jen So weve presented our vision for switch, which demonstrates our careful consideration for each user in the app. Were confident that switch can help CMU transition between paper and digital and take advantage of all the benefits of real-time data capture.
