CORROSION
ENGINEERING
Corrosion Engineering offers exciting
career opportunities for engineers,
scientists and researchers. According to
the World Corrosion Organisation White
Paper, corrosion may be costing the
Australian economy more than $13 billion
a year.
It is an issue particularly pertinent to the
energy and resource industries where
optimal corrosion management practices
can have a positive impact on maximising
efficient, safe production.
The Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma
in Corrosion Engineering are the first in a series of
postgraduate courses Curtin University offers to meet
growing industry demand for qualified corrosion
engineers and quality research in this field. The course
is part of oil and gas companies Woodside and Chevron’s
sponsorship of the Chevron-Woodside Chair in Corrosion
Engineering.
Both courses are offered online. The graduate certificate
is the equivalent of six month’s full-time study, while
the graduate diploma is the equivalent of one year’s
full-time study. If you have an undergraduate degree in
engineering or an applied science discipline, this course
offers you a chance to break into this market and fast
track your career in a broad spectrum of industries.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT IN ENERGY AND RESOURCES
Curtin’s Corrosion Engineering programs are tailored to
industry needs – specifically the energy and resource
industries – and can be undertaken while working as
there are no requirements to attend classes at the
University.
The course allows you to:
• complete semester-based online courses from
anywhere in the world
• commence in either March or July
• access course materials and assignments using
web-based tools
• complete the assessments and submit work online.
