Tyrannosaurus rex lived during the late Cretaceous period approximately 66-68 million years ago. It was a large bipedal carnivorous dinosaur that could reach up to 12 meters in length and weigh up to 5 tons. T-Rex had a large head with powerful jaws, short arms with two clawed fingers, and walked on muscular hind legs making it a swift hunter. It is thought likely that the dinosaurs were wiped out around 65 million years ago, when many plants and animals died as a result of climatic changes brought about by a meteor striking the earth, but no one knows what really happened.
