Creating a We Care Barn Culture
Things We Know.
We Care awareness is high with producers
Producers able to state a We Care Principle remains low
Barn Worker Kits have been successful
Over 9,000 distributed in English and Spanish
We will continue to actively promote with producers
with plenty of opportunities remaining.
On Going Challenges
Videos have and will continue to occur
Every time mishandling is demonstrated (not
production practices), the credibility of We
Care and PQA/TQA are challenged
Producers/Owners get it, but they are
struggling to get it changed in the barn culture
Barn Culture Summit Aug. 6-7
We know there are many examples of producers/managers who
have been able to create this culture
Bring them together with experts and create resources that could
be used for delivery of the message
Utilize these folks to be resources for other producers/systems
on how to change culture
Messages best delivered and heard when they come from
other producers
Potential Delivery
Focus We Care Cost Shares on Creating Barn Culture
programs
Utilize with systems during management retreats/regional
meetings
Create a presentation on changing culture based on these
producer experiences
Tie in other Checkoff resources (Employee Care Toolkit) to
support the efforts
