The complainant purchased 12 quintals of wheat seed variety AD2329 for Rs. 30,000 from the opposite parties with the assurance that it would yield 22 quintals per acre. However, when sown on the complainant's 25 acres of land, the yield was only 85 quintals total, much less than the assured 550 quintals. This resulted in a loss of Rs. 4,72,200 for the complainant. The complainant is seeking a court order for the opposite parties to pay compensation of Rs. 4,72,200 along with 12% interest for deficiency in service and losses suffered due to the poor yield of the seed supplied.
