Crop circles first appeared in the 1980s in farmers' fields in the UK and reports of them spread over the following decade across the world. The patterns were often geometric and complex, leading to theories that they were created by aliens, though they were likely human-made. Students used GeoGebra to model dynamic crop circles, though some geometries were too complex to create dynamically. Their files were uploaded to a GeoGebra project page on crop circles.

What about crop circles? Where do we find them?
Crop circles appeared in the early 1980s on farmers land in U.
Reports in the media about crop circles all over the world
exploded in the next 10 years. Mostly there are geometric
pattern, very huge and sometimes full of complex math.
There had been many theories about these crop circles and
nobody really could expain how they were made
So a lot of funny stories were told e.g. that these crop circles
of course man-made were created by alien spaceships which
landed on the ground.
3. Crop circles modeled with GeoGebra
Students tried to create dynamic crop circles. But
sometimes the geometry behind the forms are too
Scomplex, to construct it dynamically, sometimes
they did not pay attention for dynamic working.
Some work has been coloured using PAINT (or a
similiar working software).
All Geogebra files will be uploaded to our GeoGebra
