5. Fundamental Articles of Faith In Islam,cont. Muslim believes in all the scriptures and revelations of God. Muslim believes in the angles of Allah Muslim believes in the judgment day. Muslim believes in the timeless knowledge of Allah and nothing can happen against his well.
6. GREETING Muslim uses a universal greeting to each other Assalamo alaikom , to which the response is wa-allaikom asslam .

BELIEFS The Muslims have to fulfill five essential religious dutiesPILLARS: That there is no other God but Allah, and that the Prophet Mohammed is his Messenger( SHAHADAT) or monotheism. 2.To offer prayers five times a day(SALAT) : at dawn, midday, late afternoon, after sunset and late evening. --Prayers are performed facing Mecca . During illness, prayers can by performed sitting up or lying down person is exempt from prayer if seriously ill or women having bleeding ( menstruation,post delivery) Privacy is very essential during performing salat
10. To fast in the month of Ramadan(SOUM). People eat and drink before sunrise . Fast is broken at sunset . Simple measures can be taken to accommodate fasting for patients who are willing to fast, such as rescheduling the times that medications are given and providing long acting medications to facilitate observance of the fast. To give money to charity (ZAKAT). To go on a pilgrimage to Mecca, known as (HAJJ), at least once in a lifetime if they can afford it .
12. THE HOLY QURAN The Quran is the last revealed word of A llah and the basic source of Islamic teachings and laws. It is the essential guide for all aspects of Muslims life. It is placed above all other books, and it is never put on the floor. Hadith, the teachings,sayings and actions of prophet Mohammed (PBUH) ,,explain and elaborated the Quranic verses.
14. Gender and Modesty Separateness of men and women in all aspects of Muslim life is essential. Muslims appreciate that it is not always possible to be cared for by somebody of the same sex. Respecting modesty including providing a female chaperon when the health care provider is a male,
15. Cleanliness Cleanliness covers physical and spiritual ,mundane and religious domains. Ghusul is a complete body wash with clean water. It must be performed after love-making and at the end of menstruation or post natal period. Wudu ( ablution) is a partial wash with clean water, performed before offering prayers or starting for pilgrimage.
16. Cont Istinja is the washing of genitals with running water after using the toilet. Non Muslim nurses are allowed to wash people who are ill. In most cases, a close family member of the same sex may be allowed to wash the sick person.
25. ABORTION Islam values human life, so abortion is not permitted. However, the procedure is allowed if the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother .
26. CIRCUMCISION Baby boys are circumcised as it enables them to maintain hygiene by preventing urine from collecting in the foreskin. The practice of female genital mutilation by some Muslim countries, is not supported by Islamic faith .
28. DIET Muslims eat with their right hand. Muslims refer to permissible food as HALAL . Non- permissible food is called HARAM. Halal meat comes from an animal that had been slaughtered during a prayer ritual. Halal foods include halal meat, fish, fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, milk and cheese. Haram foods include pork, non-halal meat, alcoholic drinks .
31. Muslims are allowed to donate their organs unless it compromises their own life. Muslims have no objections to blood transfusions. ORGAN DONATION AND BLOOD TRANSFUSION
33. End-of-life issues a-Suicide and euthanasia The Islamic faith does not differentiate between killing oneself or asking someone else to do it . Human life is regarded as precious ands taking it is considered a major sin.
34. Death/Rituals Muslims believe in life after death and the last day of judgment. People with good deeds will be generously rewarded and warmly welcomed to the heaven of Allah.And those with bad deeds will be punished and cast into the hell. Islam advocates that terminally ill people should be treated with sympathy , and that their spiritual as well as physical needs should be accommodated. When dying, privacy is appreciated while the person declares his faith(Shahadat). Sometimes a recital of the Quran comforts them.
