This document discusses work-related stress in Japan. It defines koroshi as death due to excessive fatigue from overwork. Major causes of koroshi include heart attacks and strokes from long work hours and stress from failing to meet employer expectations or increased job responsibilities. Suicide due to occupational stress is called karojisatsu in Japan. Cultural factors like service overtime, loyalty to the workplace, and social acceptance of prioritizing work contribute to stress. Psychological factors like feeling a duty to meet expectations also contribute.
