Making the complex simple
3. This 1145m span suspension bridge is
now almost complete, with finishing
expected this summer.
4. A 3 tower bridge with a small
central tower, it is perhaps
possible to judge if this is a
successful rouse structurally and
visually.
Mersey Gateway
5. River Wear Bridge
Another smaller bridge in Uk, with two
spans less than 150m, now named The
Spire, due to its single tower.
6. Tapan Zee
This American bridge
with outward leaning
towers is almost
complete. Again it is now
possible to see the full
visual implications from a
distance¡
9. A classic concrete cable
stay bridge being
constructed in balanced
cantilever.
10. Another classic concrete cable stay bridge in
the news for the wrong reasons.
The failure report clearly blaming the design.
Look at the flow of forces, if you have to
change force direction ensure equilibrium at
the change!
11. HZM Bridges
As noted last year the bridges and viaducts on this project
are largely complete, waiting for some of the works near
Hong Kong to finish.

me know via Linkedin.
