October 2009 - Present Founder and Editor, SR2 Blog Launched hyperlocal news site focussing on Sunderland SR2. Act as editor, reporter, designer, advertising department and community manager in the day-to-day running of SR2Blog.com. Recorded average of 600 visits per week in first month of being live. June 2009 - September 2009 Digital Media Assistant, Sunderland AFC Launched new website with new content management system; Innovated fresh content ideas with focus on community involvement. Examples include a weekly live-chat with free embeddable software and more personable use of social media; Enhanced commercial viablity of online communications using social media. February 2009 - September 2009 Editor, InJournalism.co.uk Managed editorial team, forward planning news agenda, bank of contributors, recruitment, content management system, external relations; Consistently broke own records of unique users, page views and community interaction. Had search optimised articles picked up and linked to by Reuters press agency. other EXPERIENCE Founded and moderate the weekly Euro CollegeJourn forum for journalism educators, students and practitioners. Also a founding Page 1 member of the CollegeJourn global collaborative reporting team. The CollegeJourn forum takes place on Sundays, 8pm BST at www.collegejourn.com; Deputy-edited The Wear, University of Sunderlands biannual newspaper, in December 2008. Instated as Editor in May 2009. of 2 Planned, designed and produced the newspaper. Sourced, allocated and disseminated tasks and news stories; Summer 2009: Pitched, plotted and produced an as-yet-unreleased hyperlocal mapping network for a local news publisher.
