 June 2015 – Present:
Assistant Health, Safety and Environmental Officer at Cyprus Port Authority.
Job Description: Identify and monitor the needs of the community in relation to
environmental health matters and prepare and implement programs of work to
address them. Responsible for ensuring a range of Environmental Protection
services, (this currently comprise of Private Water Supplies; Local Authority
Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control; Local Air Quality Management;
Contaminated Land and Sea; Noise Pollution Prevention and Control, Statutory
Nuisances and Public Health).What is more Handling of all marine activities
related to the ships under my responsibility and environmentally aware manner,
consistent with industry standards (MARPOL, SOLAS etc.). Handling
environmental, marine and safety issues contribute to the development and
implementation on port activities. Ensure guidelines and “best industry practices”
are adhered to at all times, with regard to marine activities, operations,
equipment and personnel requirements. Analyze, review and respond to safety
from the vessels and other operations. Conduct environmental and safety drills on
port and carry out management inspections to assess the quality assurance and
the effectiveness, throw prepare and conduct trainings for officers of the port.
Arrange filing of correspondence, communication and keep records concerning
the marine & safety aspects of ports.
