Profile
I am a passionate Aerospace Engineering graduate with extensive academic experience in designing, modelling and structural
analysis of unmanned aerial vehicles. Having studied in a multi-cultural environment, I have led complex design projects and
applied my skills and analytical thinking in solving innovative engineering problems.
I worked with RWE Generation UK as a part of my degree, supporting the Mechanical Engineering team for a 2000MW Combined
Cycle Gas Turbine power station. Driven and organised, I am actively seeking opportunities to challenge myself and to further
develop a career in the Design Engineering.
WorkExperience
RWE Generations, U.K ,Pembroke power station Year in Industry (Sept 2015 Sept 2016)
Rotating Plant, Balance of Plant, Operations and Maintenance department at (CCGT Power Plant)
o Vibration analysis of 18-metre long shaft Main Cooling Water Pumps and followed by a life cycle assessments of
structures, accounting for fatigue, fracture, plasticity, or creep formations. (Presenting my findings to the OEM)
o Worked collaborative with three departments at a time (Rotating plant, balance of plant, maintenance) to execute
projects and condition monitoring activities.
o Actively worked in the implementation of lean methodology New ways of working, by focusing on the customer
requirements, Continuous improvement, People Development, Time management and Leadership skills.
o Developing Compressor maps for five Gas turbine (Alstom/GE GT 26) units and hence analysing the performance.
o Worked with the maintenance team involved with inspections, and overhauls of high-pressure steam valves, actuators,
gland packing, heat exchangers and pumps.
o Thermal surveying the high-pressure steam valves and analysing their hot spots and leaks according to their operational
loads.
o Supported RWE and ALSTOM/ GE Engineers in two C- inspections and three Borescopic inspections.
o GT specific knowledge on the Rotor, Casing, Bearing, shaft, Lube oil and jackin oil system, Pumps, Couplings, Blades and
Vanes, Lances, Burners, Flame eyes, Ignition torches, Thermo-Couples, Cooling air systems, Exhaust gas housing, Air
intake filters, Compressors, RRP plain measurements, Condition monitoring, Vibration monitoring, NDT testings (Eddy
Current testings on the Turbine and Compressor Blades), Compressor blade rub inspections and Rotor Balancing.
o Sweetening of the lube oil/power oil (Total Preslia 46) due to high particle counter reading/contaminations and
followed by the installation of the varnish removal (Hy tech) machine and related modes, stroke testing the VIGVS, IGVS,
Fuel gas valves and Blow off Valves.
o Experienced one-month secondment in operations, involved with the CCGT unit shut down/starts up procedures.
As an Intern in RWE, I have worked with Engineers, Contractors, Technical and Non-technical staffs from around the world.
MD FRANCIS & SONS FURNISHING, India (Manufacturer and retailer) Summer Placement (July Sept 2012 & 2014)
Sales Manager :
o I cultivated relationships with existing clients, achieving a 35% increase in repeat business.
o The advertising campaign I developed enthralled our audiences' interest and led to a dramatic increase in sales.
o I took part in providing outstanding customer sales and service support.
o Worked towards collective and individual targets.
As a manager, I led five people in my department to do their job according to their higher standards.
Education
Swansea University, United Kingdom Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering with a year in Industry
 Grade: 2:1 (67.5% Overall) (or) GPA 3.56/ 4.00 (2012 2016)
Relevant Modules: Finite Element Analysis, Rotor Dynamics, Gas Dynamics, CAD /CAM, Computational Aerodynamics,
Propulsion, Fluid Mechanics, Flight Mechanics, Airframe Structures, Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, Structural
Mechanics, High Performance & Material Selection.
Final Year Thesis 1D Computational Analysis of Convergent-Divergent Nozzle
o The focus of the project was identifying the choked velocity and the location of the normal shock in a de Laval nozzle.
I have achieved this goal by developing a MatLab script to simulate the flow under a combination of isentropic,
isothermal and compressible/incompressible boundary conditions.
o Further works: 2-D CFD simulation of CD nozzle in the Ansys Fluent and hence a design comparison of both the 1-D
and 2-D approaches.
Final Year Design Project Design of a UAV for Glacier Monitoring in Greenland
o Led a team of eight members and assisted them with my knowledge to bring out the best possible results within the
team.
o Developed my communication and team working skills by effectively distributing tasks amongst team members and
coordinating the project to the finite success.
o Time management and multitasking skills were effectively implemented, which had a positive impact on the team
achievements.
o CAD design interfaces such as Surface modelling, solid modelling, Sheet metaling and assembly for 3-D modelling; Static
FEA for analysing (Solid works 2015) and Virtual Wind Tunnel for aerodynamics testing are used as a part of the project.
2nd Year Design Project (Reverse Engineering) Designing Wing and Empennage System of the aircraft BEDE BD 4
o Analysing and troubleshooting the performance of the aircraft and its impact due to the specific designs.
o Researching the statistics of the performance problems on its design and redesigning them accordingly from scratch.
o By the aid of Tornado vortex lattice method, the aerodynamics properties were simulated and analysed.
