Task: Analyzed the SOP for pharmaceutical packaging artwork development, to
identify process optimization opportunities and cost saving potentials. Approach:
Interviewed the internal customers and the external suppliers to identify
improvement areas. Analyzed suppliers pricing methods and hence developed a
model to benchmark the cost structures of packaging artwork operations. Proposed
two KPIs to monitor the work efficiency within the artwork development process.

artwork development. The projected saving potential is up to 10%.
Mar. 2009 Intern Global Sourcing, Wavin Group N.V.
~ Sept. 2009 (plastic pipe industry, 5000~10000 employees)
Task: Performed a market research to evaluate which low-cost countries are
suitable to purchase materials and components for plastic pipe production based
2. on TCO principle. Approach: labor cost, quality, industrial competence, logistics
condition and business environment were considered as the main evaluation
criterion. 21 KPIs were designed for these criterions, and data were collected from
international organizations (e.g. WTO, World Bank). A weighted selection model
was developed to produce a ranking list of popular low-cost countries (such as
India, China and Vietnam). The strength and weakness were of each country were
also displayed in an Excel radar chart. Result: The analysis results were
appreciated by top management for the value on long term strategic planning. My
