A 63-year-old man underwent VATS excision of an anterior mediastinal mass which was found to be a cystic thymoma of WHO type A. Microscopic examination at low, medium, and high power revealed the tumor cells formed cysts of various sizes consistent with cystic thymoma, WHO type A.
