A jumper in EIDE drives is an electrically conductive module that is placed over pins on the drive's circuit board to electronically link them. Just-in-time (JIT) is an inventory controlling system where materials are ordered based on need and there is no overstocking - reordering occurs as stock is about to finish. JIT is used by many hard drive producing firms to manage inventory.
