Research is investigating various approaches to curing HIV/AIDS, including flushing latent viruses from reservoirs, replacing the immune system, making cells resistant to HIV, and treating very early infection. Some successes have included the Berlin Patient who was cured in 2007, and the Mississippi Baby who achieved remission after early treatment.
