Mr. David Nguyen worked under my direct supervision at the European Chamber of Commerce in
Vietnam (EuroCham). During his five-month internship (January 4th May 20th) in 2016, Mr.
David Nguyen was employed as a Marketing & Communication intern, reporting mainly to the
Marketing Manager and the Event Manager in the Ho Chi Minh department. EuroCham is the
principle voices of European business community and one of the largest business chambers in
Vietnam. EuroCham, established in 1998, is an independent and non-profit organisation. The
organisation has more than 900 members of SMEs and MNCs, with more than 3.500 corporate
EuroCham representatives. EuroCham is assisting in the development of Vietnam, making it an
interesting destination for investment, with focus on European businesses. The organisation
operates as an intermediary between its members, the local, national, regional and European
authorities.
During his five-month internship, Mr. David Nguyen was assigned with the project of assisting and
coordinating for The 10

European Food Festival in Hanoi. This event was the 10
th
of its kind and
involved approximately 1400 people. The food festival is the culinary event celebrating European
cultural diversity. It provides a unique opportunity for members of the European and Vietnamese
communities in Hanoi to meet and mingle while exploring and experiencing some of Europes
culinary specialties with its many tastes and flavours. Mr. David Nguyen was a key member of the
organising committee and was stationed in Hanoi 12 days before up to the event due to promote,
coordinate and an communicate with sponsors and suppliers. He was a part of the whole process
from the event planning, event management, attracting sponsors and execution of the event May

2016 at the National Library Garden in Hanoi. He showed impressive interpersonal skills,
hardworking, smart working and contributed with a big effort for this Food Festival to succeed.
The 10

European Food Festival was a success and EuroChams largest event through the year
2016. Mr. David Nguyen has been a significant asset for of ongoing activities and most valuable in
the acquisition of discount partners and discount partners of the week. He showed great initiative
through assessment of potential sponsors from an analytical perspective, uncovering the value
proposition of the individual companies and implementing the key points in his sales approach. He
was also a significant asset in preparation of promotion material for major events such as The
Annual General Meeting and the whitebook. This was the eighth edition of EuroChams annual
advocacy publication on Trade / Investment Issues & Recommendations. For the first time the
whitebook was launched at, a half-day conference engaging key stakeholders and media
accompanied launch. The scope broadened and included four panel discussions, speeches by
dignitaries and a presentation on the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EU-VN FTA). The EU
and Vietnam Economic Cooperation Conference: EuroCham Whitebook 2016 Launch & EU-
Vietnam FTA Outlook took place on the 2nd of March from 8:00 am to 14:00 pm at Sofitel Plaza
Hanoi and attracted over 350 participants and 150 participants In Ho Chi Minh City. He also
assisted management and event preparations and operations management on event day.

In addition, Mr. David Nguyen took part in the creation of advertising material utilised for various
events and activities, tangible advertisement and online advertisement, including assisted
assessment of beneficial distribution channels. Acquisition of new members and service partners,
obtained through a strong performance in sales through email, tele communication and face to
face at different networking venue. Additionally, he has been performing as a representative for
EuroCham organisation at various business luncheons, networking events and events for
promotional purposes.
Mr. David Nguyen conducted presentations for the 4-signature events including the 10
th
European
Food Festival. Furthermore, he assisted the Executive Director Ms. Almut Roessner, which
included seeking sponsors through networking events in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. In
addition he have been an extra support for external lectures e.g. visiting Ho Chi Minh City
University of Culture to demonstrate and talk about how EuroCham communicates with
stakeholders and which communications channels offers.
It has been a pleasure supervising Mr. David Nguyen during his five-month internship, in which he
has been a valuable asset in our organisation within the Event, Marketing and Communication
departments. His engagement in the numerous projects demonstrated through his ability to
multitask, project management skills and dedication. Mr. David Nguyen displayed great to adapt
and operate in our unit. He managed to intergrade well in the multicultural surrounding and
functioned well with his colleagues-
