The following is a general guideline for determining whether a student may be a fit for DaytopNJs treatment approach,

Learning disabilities more severe

Medical issues requiring alteration of
programmatic elements

behaviors against others

facility due to safety concerns
Problematic family functioning issues
History of substance abuse or dependence
18 year old, still enrolled in High School
Parents/guardians open and willing to participate meaningfully in their
childs and familys treatment through program completion (average
length 6 months)
Parents/guardians struggling to collaborate with one another in
parenting their child
Law enforcement/ court involvement
Explosive temper/anger management issues
A history of running away from home, school or treatment settings

A history of making false allegations of abuse
Difficulties primarily associated with major
neurological issue (e.g. Traumatic brain injury,

The program has made a significant impact on
our lives. I am so grateful that Alexis wound up in
such a caring environment with dedicated staff
members guiding her in a positive direction, help-
ing her accept responsibility, learn healthy coping
skills, take on new challenges and to care about
herself and others.
