MAFF gives critically and terminally ill youth the opportunity to write, star in, and direct their own short films with the help of high-profile industry professionals. It combines the passions of filmmaking and serving the lives of youth. Youth are given a creative outlet that can provide empowerment and healing. Recent films include one written and starring with Kerry Washington and Michael Ealy directed by Rodrigo Garcia, and another written by a 12-year-old boy with Elijah Wood, Gil Kenan, and Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris providing mentorship. MAFF aims to expand to produce 5-10 films annually on budgets of $25-50k each through fundraising, grants, sponsors, and individual donors.
