Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. It is transmitted by a mosquito species called Aedes especially by A. aegypti. The symptoms of dengue include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains. Bangladesh has seen a significant rise in dengue cases this year which has impacted public health. While there is no vaccine or specific treatment for dengue fever, proper diagnosis and treatment including rest, staying hydrated and use of antipyretics can help recovery. Community efforts like eliminating mosquito breeding sites are important to prevent the spread of the disease.

Ebola virus disease (EVD) first appeared in 1976 in 2 simultaneous outbreaks, one in Nzara, Sudan, and the other in Yambuku, Democratic Republic of Congo. On August 8, the WHO Director-General declared this outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
A separate, unrelated Ebola outbreak began in Boende, Equateur, an isolated part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The virus family Filoviridae includes 3 genera: Cuevavirus, Marburgvirus, and Ebolavirus. There are 5 species that have been identified: Zaire, Bundibugyo, Sudan, Reston and Ta誰 Forest. The first 3, Bundibugyo ebolavirus, Zaire ebolavirus, and Sudan ebolavirus have been associated with large outbreaks in Africa. Swine flu, also known as Influenza A (H1N1), pig influenza, swine flu, hog flu and pig flu is a new influenza virus causing illness in people1. It infect the respiratory tract and result in nasal secretions, a barking like cough, decreased appetite and listless behaviour. It has been found that this new virus has gene segments from the swine, avian and human flu virus genes, hence named swine flu. The scientists calls this a quadruple reassortant virus and hence this new (novel) virus is christened influenza-A (H1N1) virus. Influenza A H1N1 is a circulating seasonal influenza virus was first reported in Mexico on 18th March, 2009 and then spread to neighbouring United States and Canada. Dengue is common in more than 100 countries around the world. 40% of the worlds population, about 3 billion people, live in areas with a risk of dengue. Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus.

The fifth type was announced in 2013. The distinctions between the serotypes are based on their antigenicity. Virology Dengue fever virus (DENV) is an RNA virus of the family flaviviridae; genus flavivirus. Most are transmitted by arthropods (mosquitos or ticks), and are therefore also referred to as arboviruses (arthropod-borne viruses).

Effects of DENGUE on Society: Since the beginning of 21st century, Dengue fever has been a significant vector borne arboviral disease. Actually more than 3.9 billion people are at risk of infection in 128 countries.

An overlap of sings and symptoms, including thrombocytopeenia, capillary, and decreased urine output may make this clinically challenging. Pregnant women with dengue fever respond well to the usual therapy of fluid, rest, and antipyretics. However, 3 cases of maternal death due to dengue fever in the third trimester have been reported. An awareness of the clinical and laboratory manifestations of dengue in pregnancy should allow its early recognition and the institution of appropriate treatment.
