Khalid K. Stevenson worked on multiple assignments and projects at Morgan State University from summer 2015 to spring 2015 that enhanced his skills. He scheduled lunch and learns and filed documents. Stevenson worked on the design of a new $60 million Behavioral and Social Science Center and assisted with renovations of the General Counsel's office and campus bathrooms. He led a pole light survey and assisted with a utility tunnel project. Through these various responsibilities, he gained experience in areas like blueprint reading, design, presenting, organizing, surveying, communicating, and researching. Stevenson looks to continue expanding his skills and network as his career progresses.

Morgan State University: Design and Construction-Assignment Summary
Overview: Throughout the summer to spring 2015 semester I have had multiple assignments and
responsibilities that enhance my growing skill sets.
Organization:
Lunch and Learns- Through time management I had to schedule and maximize the
presence of staff, faculty, or various industry colleagues.
Filing- It was through reviewing NOACs to the project substantial completions I had to
locate multiple documents to assist in the confirmation of all the necessary paperwork
for job completions.
Projects/Designs:
Behavioral and Social Science Center- I have been working with my project manager
and the A/E team on our new west campus 60 million dollar building. This project has
allowed me to observe multiple disciplines input and discussions for the design phases.
In addition, I will have the opportunity to keep seeing the growth of this building all the
way up to its ground breaking. Also through this project I have gain a lot of knowledge
into LEDs, Audio Visual, Lighting, and campus standards.
General Counsel Office Staff Renovation- I assisted our Interior Designer in developing
and designing the General Counsels staff new office space within our new library.
Bathrooms- By travelling to all the old buildings and high used faculty or administration
buildings to observe, document, review, and discuss conditions of the their restrooms
for future renovations.
Pole Light Survey- Lead with the help of my co-worker the review of our current
campus exterior lighting for the future campus wide retrofitting and upgrades to more
cost efficient lights. By travelling to all parts of campus we develop a guidelines and
proposed documentations for either lights coming on or offline as the campus grows. It
has allowed me to grow my presentation skills to administration and management.
Utility Tunnel- By assisting my project manager through the final phases of the utility
tunnel I was able to see it built, and learn a great deal of the process of a punch list to
close out a project.
