2 I S C O T T A N S O N 2019 was witness to a lot of changes in design trends. Notable mention goes to the long-awaited demise of dark wood cabinets and a move away from the colour grey. As 2020 marks the end of another decade of design, there are a few styles and design trends which will start to look dated this year.
3 I S C O T T A N S O N Accent Walls The wallpapered accent wall provides a statement piece, but the popularity of wallpaper looks set to branch out to all four walls. Design experts predict there will be more rooms with all walls papered or painted in bold colours. 04 Neutral Colours Neutrals have long been a popular choice, but it seems that they may finally be done with. This in- cludes grey, beige and anything without texture or visual appeal. 01 02. All White Kitchens 03. Single Use Spaces Coloured cabinetry looks set to be very much on trend in 2020, marking an end to the all-white kitchen. Any- one tired of cleaning their white countertops, white cabinets and white floors will surely welcome the ex- cuse to redecorate. Multi-use spaces are becoming part of the open floor plan revolution. Functionality is increasingly prized over formality, so a cosy nook can double as a home gym, media room or reading space.
