This document discusses the Edmonton Public Library's (EPL) efforts to establish digital literacy as a core public library service. It outlines how EPL has championed digital literacy training for staff, developed digital literacy programs and services for patrons, and expanded makerspaces in its branches. A survey found that after training, staff felt more confident in their digital skills. The document received an ALA Presidential Citation in 2015 for its innovative digital literacy model. It aims to have makerspaces in most of its 19 branches by early 2016 to better serve patrons' digital needs.
