The document discusses two digital cameras used to shoot a music video and take photographs. The Sony HVR A1 was used to shoot scenes around a forest, house, and college. It has a 12x optical zoom, over 5 hours of battery life, and dual memory card slots. Though some footage was accidentally overwritten, the quality was much higher than a previous camera. A Canon EOS 550D was also used, which the author was familiar with. Workshop taught lighting and composition. Manual settings and a flash produced the best tunnel photos. More advanced equipment allowed skills to be extended.

3. I used this video camera to shoot all of our music video scenes, taking it around to the forest, my house and using it in college. Also, we had a tripod to make sure the shots were stable and balanced. I first used the camera for our casting video and got used to the functions and how to use it which made it easier when actually using it for the music video. This camera was fairly easy to use as we learnt how to set the white balance in the different locations to have the correct colour of the artist. Working with the microphone to help us know when to cut in the editing suite, fixing the exposure and and constantly play backing our footage to see how it looks was easy. The only problem we had was we didnt forward to the end of the footage to start filming again so we ended up filming over a bit of our footage and had to re shoot it. At AS we used a very different camera which was a lot less professional compared to the one we used this year, using the Sony HVR A1 felt much more real and everything was done in a much higher quality.
5. Ive always liked these cameras and have used one before so I know how they work and what the functions are. We still had a workshop on how to use them and how to take good photographs using the rule of thirds which helped in taking the photos for our digi-pak and magazine advert. Also, I found changing the exposure and setting the camera correct to indoor and outdoor lighting is important and effective. At the tunnel taking the photos we had all the settings on manual and used flash which made the pictures turn out the best they could. At AS level, we didnt use cameras like this but ordinary digital ones that were a lot less mega pixels. If we used them cameras for a photo shoot like this which is meant to look very professional and pick up amazing detail the photographs wouldnt look half as good as they do. Using the more advanced equipment meant I could extend and challenge my skills.
