What is MOOC?
The term MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) was coined by David Cormier in 2008 (Cormier & Siemens, 2010) to describe a twelve-week online course, Connectivism and Connected Knowledge, designed by George Siemens and Stephen Downes and offered at the University of Manitoba, Canada, in Fall semester 2008.
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are courses provided over the Internet. They are provided free of charge to a large number of people and are accessed by the user logging into a website and signing up. MOOCs differ from traditional university studies, firstly by their open access. As a point of departure, participation merely requires an Internet connection. Secondly, MOOCs are characterized by scalability; the courses are organized so that they can easily be scaled in line with the number of participants.
EdX is a massive open online course provider that hosts university-level courses for free or low-cost for a worldwide student body. It was created in 2012 by MIT and Harvard and now has over 14 million students taking more than 1,800 courses from more than 70 schools and organizations. The website loads quickly, has readable fonts and formatting, and makes important information like course listings, search functions, and contact details easily accessible without distracting ads or popups.
The lesson plan teaches grade 3 students about computer input and output devices. It will help students learn about devices that provide data to the computer and how to get information from the computer. Students will learn that input devices like keyboards and mice are used to enter data, and output devices like monitors and speakers are used to display or present that data. The system unit then processes the data and sends it to the appropriate output devices. Students will apply their understanding through a worksheet and share what they've learned with peers. Their homework will be to further explain or illustrate the roles of input, output, and system devices.
The document discusses innovation arising from the combination of new technology, old problems, and big ideas. It notes that occasionally a new technology can be applied to an existing problem in a novel way through a creative vision, leading to innovation. The brief quote attributes this view of innovation to Dean Kamen.
Two Leading Approaches to Data Virtualization, and Which Scales Better? by Da...ScyllaDB

Should you move code to data or data to code? Conventional wisdom favors the former, but cloud trends push the latter. This session by the creator of PACELC explores the shift, its risks, and the ongoing debate in data virtualization between push- and pull-based processing.
Theres a common adage that it takes 10 years to develop a file system. As ScyllaDB reaches that 10 year milestone in 2025, its the perfect time to reflect on the last decade of ScyllaDB development both hits and misses. Its especially appropriate given that our project just reached a critical mass with certain scalability and elasticity goals that we dreamed up years ago. This talk will cover how we arrived at ScyllaDB X Cloud achieving our initial vision, and share where were heading next.

Introduction:
Diigo is a social bookmarking website that allows signed-
up users to bookmark and tag Web pages. Additionally, it allows users to
highlight any part of a webpage and attach sticky notes to specific
highlights or to a whole page. These annotations can be kept private,
shared with a group within Diigo, or be forwarded to someone else via a
special link. The name "Diigo" is an acronym from "Digest of Internet
Information, Groups and Other stuff".
Premium account holders can perform full-text searches of cached copies
of bookmarks. A full-text search also searches page URLs, tags and
annotations. This means that premium account holders can choose to omit
tags that already appear in the text of a page to be bookmarked (although
text inside images cannot be searched).
The launch of Diigo met with mixed responses, from the unimpressed to
the enthusiastic. Diigo beta was listed as one of the top ten research tools
by CNET in 2006.
Outside the website, Diigo's graphical user interface includes an
optional bookmarklet, or a customizable toolbar, with various search
capabilities. Highlight is enabled by a menu that can either appear
automatically when content is selected, or be embedded into the context
menu.
In March 2009, Diigo acquired web-clipping
service Furl from Looksmart for an undisclosed price.
The site also has an extension available on the Chrome Web Store.
Mobile apps for Diigo are available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone
