Diy Christmas Gift
with Dye Sublimation
Transfer PAPER
Christams is a happy and very important
holiday for many foreigners. First of all,
merry christams to everybody no matter
where are you and what are you doing.
Let’s just enjoy the chriatmas day.Well,
Christmas presents is a significant part for
the day.
However, what kind presentwill be the Christmas present. Inmy opinion, the DIY transferpresent will be popular andunforgettable. So,today I willtell you how to transfer yourpostcard with heat transferpaper when the christamasday coming.
- gel medium
- smooth plywood, 1/4 inch thick
- heat transfer paper
- high resolution, toner-printed image/photo
- foam brush
- spray bottle filled with water
- cotton rag, optional (saves your fingers a bit during the
transfer)
1. Cut the plywood down to your desired sizes.
For reference, the smallest ‘post card’ sizepictured is 3 1/2 x 5 and the largest letter
″ ″size is 6 1/8 x 11 1/2 .Prep the printed images
″ ″by trimming down the heat transfer paper.
2. Use the foam brush to spread an
even layer of gel medium on the
surface of the wood. Bare spots or
globs will cause problems with the
transfer. Lightly spritz the printed side
of the image and lay it down on the
gel-medium-covered surface. Align
the image to the edges of the post
card.
3. Smooth out the printed imageusing your finger, pressing from thecenter to the edges. The heattransfer paper is damp which makesit easier to tear — so be careful.Allow the transfer paper and postcard to dry completely.
4. When it is dry, use the spray bottle
to wet the transfer paper surface
until the image is visible.Carefully
begin to remove the transfer paper. I
used my fingers, and I used a damp
rag to remove the transfer paper.
5. After you’ve
removed as much as
you can, let it dry a
little. As it dries, the
white paper will be
more visible. Repeat
until you are satisfied
with the look. When
it’s finished, top it
with a clear coat if
you’d like.
Happy making. A clear coat can give the image a
lovely texture. And Merry Christmas.Click here to
know more about transfer.
