Dobara - A survival kit which helps in regaining identity after the disaster has struck
This document describes the development of a multi-purpose kit to help people prepare for disasters. It begins by outlining initial ideas and research that showed a lack of proper disaster preparedness information amongst Indian people. Over 431 disasters in India in the last 30 years resulted in over 1.4 million deaths and affected over 1.5 billion people, causing $48 billion in economic damage. To address this issue, the document discusses brainstorming and user research, which revealed that people want to save important documents and assets during disasters. The solution developed was a multi-purpose disaster preparedness kit containing essential items for survival like medicine, cash, shelter and navigation, as well as instructions. Various prototypes were created before a final design was selected
