- 1. DOCKMASTER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Dockmasters are responsible for numerous tasks at the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center. Their primary responsibility is serving the Members of the Sailing Center and helping to ensure their safety . I. Open Sailing Supervision Keeping track of the boats out on the water, through check out procedures and visual inspections. Technical Support and Expertise Update Wind/weather Conditions- continually monitor changes in weather Providing Performance Evaluations for members II. Program and Class Support - Provide assistance and help supervise on the water activities for the MCSC membership and general public. Assist with classes Ensure enough boats are available for classes Do what it takes to ensure a safe and enjoyable class situation and experience at MCSC Assisting with the following programs: Youth and Adult On-the-Water Lessons Spinnaker Club Racing and Regatta Adapted Sailing Programs Work with Community Agencies. Private Lessons III. Maintenance - Ensure equipment readiness of the fleet for classes and member programs General maintenance and inspection of boats and yard Notify of maintenance and Equipment needs IV. Membership - Recruitment and Retention of Members Continue efforts in membership drive and retention by creating a friendly atmosphere for members and general public Provide assistance in Special Events Provide an orientation to new and existing members Assist people who have questions IV. Safety - Safeguard of membership and clients Provide a safe sailing environment on the water Provide a safe land based facility Enforce rules and regulations of MCSC
