Doraemon is a blue robotic cat sent back in time from the 22nd century to help Nobita, a boy who often faces problems in school and the neighborhood. Doraemon has a special pocket containing futuristic gadgets from the future that he uses to help Nobita out of difficult situations. One popular gadget is the "Anywhere Door" which can transport the user anywhere once a destination is stated. The comic series became very popular after being adapted into an animated TV series in the 1970s.

Doraemon
2. Apparently, Mr. Fujimoto initially came up with Doraemon in 1969
after tripping on his young daughter's toy, hearing a neighborhood cat
fight, and wishing he had a machine to generate a new comic concept.
Between the toy's shape, the cats' yowling, and the longing for a
machine to solve his problems, he came up with a robot cat with a
pocket containing all sorts of problem-solving gadgets.
3. In December 1969, Doraemon comic titles published
continuously in six children's monthly magazine. Magazines are
magazines Yoiko, Youchien, Shougaku Ichinensei, Shougaku
Yonensei, and since 1973 the magazine Shougaku Gonensei
and Shougaku Rokunensei. Stories contained in these
magazines is different, which means the author of this story
should be written more than 6 stories each month.
4. About television series
After a brief and unpopular animated series in 1973 by Nippon
Television, Doraemon remained fairly exclusive in comic from
until 1979 when a newly formed animation studio, Shin-Ei
Animation (Now owned by TV Asahi) produced an anime series
of Doraemon. This series became incredibly popular.
5. Doraemon is a blue robotic cat from the 22nd century, who weighs 129.3kg and
measures at 129.3cm (4'3") tall. He is manufactured on September 3rd in the
year 2112, bearing the code MS-903, at the Matsushiba Robot Factory.
Doraemon is considered a substandard product because many of his robotic
features malfunctioned after production. During his manufacture, he got struck
by lightning and lost an important screw that is part of his brain, thus affecting
his performance in both his studies and towards society. His favourite food is
dorayaki, a Japanese treat consisting of two pancake-like patties wrapped
around a filling of sweet red bean paste. Doraemon's original paint colour was
yellow. He changed colour after getting his ears gnawed off by a robot
mouse, which caused him to slip into depression on top of a tower, where he
drank a potion labelled "sadness" and as he wept, the yellow color was washed
off and his voice changed due to the potion. These events are what caused
Doraemon to have such a huge fear of mice, despite the fact he's actually a
robot cat.
8. Doraemon also has a fourth-dimensional pocket on his body
from which he can acquire various colourful, awesome and
futuristic gadgets, tools and playthings from a future
department store, mostly each one he acquires in each story
are to help out Nobi Nobita with anything he has trouble with
in the story. He also has the tendency to panic during
emergencies, characterized by him frantically trying to pull out
a very much-needed tool from his pocket, only to produce a
huge assortment of unrelated household items, which are
quite irritating at times.
9. Anywhere Door is one of the Doraemon's Gadgets. It is one of the most
popular gadgets. One needs to say where they're going, then they can
open the door and go through it to reach their destination. In some manga
scenes and in some anime episodes, however, it magically knows where
the user wants to go. It is limited to places where its informations have
already been entered in the door's program.
10. In the original storyline to the comic, Doraemon is sent back from 22nd
century to the present day to aid Nobi Nobita, a highly-unlucky fourth-
grader from Nerima in Tokyo, by his great-great-grandson Sewashi. He sent
Doraemon to the present day to help out his great-great-grandfather so
that Doraemon will help improve Nobita's circumstances so that his
descendants, including Sewashi, could enjoy a better future. When
Doraemon is "off-duty", his sister Dorami sometimes goes back in time
from 2112 to the present day to visit Nobita.
11. Doraemon arrived in 1969, the Japanese
New Year's Day. He came out of Nobita's desk
drawer, and since then he lived with Nobita, his
mission is to prevent Nobita become a failure. In
trouble every time Nobita, Doraemon will be
helping with futuristic gadgets.
12. The story focused on Nobita everyday life, the main
character. Doraemon has a four-dimensional pocket
which he filled with objects from the future. Often
Nobita come whining because of problems at school or
in the neighborhood, after begging or forced, Doraemon
will issue a tool that helps Nobita resolve the
problem, get revenge, or just show off to friends.
However, Nobita usually goes too far, ignoring the advice
or command Doraemon, and as a result fell into a deeper
problem. Sometimes, Nobita's friends steal the device
and ends in chaos due to incorrect use.
13. Doraemon co-creator Fujimoto Hiroshi (Fujiko F. Fujio) died on Sept.
23, 1996, of liver failure at age 62; he is survived by his wife Masako
and three daughters. Co-author Motoo Abiko (Fujiko Fujio A), who
split off in 1987, said "We separated because we would go our own
ways. But we both wanted to create the same comics."
